Flower Horn is a unique fish with a very interesting behavior, temper and completely unusual appearance.

Flowerhorn cichlid fish is a hybrid and it means that it can never be seen in the wild.

Interesting peculiarity of the fish is that it changes its color during its life up to reproductive stage. Flower Horn max size may be up to 30 cm (12 in). There are some species of 40 cm body length. It's is a typical large American cichlid with big bulky body, fan-shaped unpaired fins and a bright colored hump on its forehead. It’s interesting that not only flowerhorn cichlid male has such a hump, but the female, too – but it’s rather small and unpronounced.

This is the only common thing they have. So, if you are interested in buying a bright colored fish of certain color, you have to choose from mature fishes. Care is very easy since the fish isn’t demanding and it’s an enduring one. Let’s mention that the fish grows up to be very large – about 30-40 cm and it requires a spacious tank, especially if the fish has some tank mates. (Source: Wikipedia)

Soooo...

Let me introduce to you my PEPE! a Red Dragon Flowerhorn!

Look at how beautiful He is!

Recently, he fell ill. He stopped eating and became stationary in one place of my aquarium. I started to get uneasy when he developed some hole in his head and his forehead started flaking as well as his mouth.

You can see in this photo.

My fear started to increase when I've read a lot of common and rare diseases a flowerhorn could have. (Check out this link. for the diseases and how to cure them)

I first tried changing the water and removing all my filter media. I remember, he became stagnant when I changed the filter media and introduced some activated carbon on it. he started turning black then and I thought its only because of that carbon effect.

After changing, it still it didn't help so what I did, I went to this aquarium shop in singapore and showed them the video of Pepe. They immediately informed me to treat the disease or else I wouldn't like the outcome of it; DEATH of PEPE. So they recommended me to buy FURAN-2

If you want to know more about Furan-2 just click this link.

I was advice to make a medicine tank/aquarium and isolate my Flowerhorn to its previous tank. There, I can start treating Pepe. They also asked me to buy a heater so I can monitor the level of temperature of the water in the aquarium. it helps to retain the temperature in 30-32 degrees celcius for this is not a convenient way for bacteria to thrive.

Recently, in Singapore it became very cold which is conducive for microbial growth and I think that adds up to the factor that pepe got sick. I also didn't care about the temperature because all I know is that, flowerhorn fishes are okay with all types of water temperature.

I recorded the video of my DAY 1 treatment and made daily vlog about it. You can watch the first part here where Pepe and I are both sick. You can see it here also how I introduced the FURAN-2 and set up his medicine aquarium.

Then, my day to day vlog up to day 5 resulted into a POSITIVE RESULT.

I am really glad that it helped him recover a lot. I just followed the instruction where day 1 and day 2 no water change should be done and put furan-2 every after 24 hours. on the third day, change 25% of water then add another furan-2 sachet. on his 4th day, same thing then after that you will see some tremendous changes, etc.

The whole video blog you can watch below.

So now! PEPE is ALL WELL!

Thanks to FURAN-2, heater and some EPSOM SALT!

That's all I need.
but of course a tender loving care and attention. I think, they are the same as human. when they got sick, they need medication and attention.

So if you have a pet, never ever neglect them. They have feelings too. If they got sick, make sure to DO SOMETHING. If they die, at least you've done your part as their OWNER/MASTER.

Never ever leave them dying with no mercy.

So there you go folks, I hope you enjoyed reading this and got something from me.

I didn't say, this is the universal antidote for every disease a flowerhorn could have. If you experience the same signs and symptoms as those of my Pepe when he got sick, try this treatment first. the best way is to seek professional advice. :0

Peace out you. TATA for NOW!
